Why Partner with us?

Map the Gaps is cultivating and empowering a growing network of professionals, organizations and communities working together to create new ways for interacting with, understanding and protecting the seafloor. We help to increase diversity, equity and inclusion in the ocean mapping community and provide access to discovery expeditions and leading technology.

We are seeking corporate partners who value the importance of understanding and protecting our blue planet.

All donations to Map the Gaps are tax deductible.

The short-term strategic goals of Map the Gaps are to increase funding levels to support the ongoing development of our extended network, and to foster the creation of more expeditions and opportunities for our ocean mapping increased community.

Additional funds will also provide for the expansion of the outreach goals, to include training/webinars, partnerships and growth of the Map the Gaps Symposium.

All of the above will raise awareness of the importance of ocean discovery, increase exploration opportunities and the diversity of the ocean community.

How does your sponsorship impact ocean conservation?

  • By democratizing seafloor data we strive to raise awareness of policy makers and the public of the importance of the ocean floor in the health and well-being of both people and the planet. Map the Gaps has been instrumental in projects like the Five Deeps Expedition, PROTEUS, and Seabed 2030. We continue to seek partnering organizations and corporations to further grow our organization and our reach.

  • Map the Gaps works with partners worldwide to map the ocean floor for actionable conservation information. Our efforts could multiply exponentially if we had our own equipment to bring to our partnerships. Not only would we be more self-sufficient, but we would also be able to speed up the process of mapping and achieve our goal to democratize ocean data.

  • Your donations support our high-level computing by assisting in providing computing and human resources to get the job done.

  • It takes time and effort to bring together the best of the best in ocean mapping, and your gifts allow us to continue to make the connections between experts and mapping opportunities, thereby democratizing and increasing successful ocean mapping.

We have the largest network of experts in the field of ocean mapping from our relationship with Nippon Foundation/GEBCO Training Program alumni and we are able to provide access to the best experts and practitioners.
